The new TV networks have unveiled their new Fall lineup and the results so far may surprise you. CBS has a winner with it's new drama "Bull" starring he top family_watching_TV.jpgMichael Weatherly.  The ratings are so strong for this series it has beaten NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” to rank as the No. 1 show on broadcast in households.

The numbers are based on Nielsen's season-to-date figures that combine Live+Same Day and Live+7.  With an 11.8 average household rating so far this season, "Bull" has even beaten its lead-in "NCIS".

The good news doesn't end there for CBS.  Their comedy “The Big Bang Theory” slipped ahead of Fox's “Empire” for the week ending Oct. 9 in the key 18-49 demo, finishing with a 5.3 average rating to “Empire’s” 5.2.

ABC’s new comedy block had a good start Tuesday, with the debut of “American Housewife”, this new show ranked highest with adults 18-49. It received a 1.8 rating. However, “The Middle,” "Fresh Off the Boat" and "The Real O'Neals" were down slightly from their last season’s debuts.

NBC moved its new drama “This Is Us” to an earlier time and improved its ratings. This show has a lot of people talking. It's an ensemble dramedy about a group of people who all have the exact same birthday and are on the verge of some major life changes as they all turn 36. Worth a watch if you haven't tried it yet.

The TV ratings will continue to change as viewers sample new shows this Fall. Even with big names behind them, many new shows will be gone before you have a opportunity to see them.

What are you watching?  Which of the new shows do you think will make it?
