The New Year has come and gone and as we quickly make our way into February many are asking:
“How will I grow my business this year? What marketing tools should I be using?
In marketing the future is always on everyone’s mind. The old way of marketing has been replaced with inbound marketing that allows even small businesses to compete successfully.
It’s time to consider LinkedIn. This year Linkedin will take a giant step forward and become a marketing giant. How?
In the words of Trevor Sumner founder of LocalVox:
“LinkedIn will become a premium destination for industry news, and you need to take part in that ecosystem early and often. Publish original content, network among peers in groups and raise your profile now.”
LinkedIn recently introduced: “LinkedIn Sponsored Updates”. This program is LinkedIn’s content marketing solution that will help companies connect to the slew of professionals the site boasts.
The ideology behind this program is that LinkedIn is unique to marketers, because its users are professionals. This will come in handy to marketers looking for leads and exciting new ways to share their content.
Marketing powerhouses such as HubSpot have already jumped on board the LinkedIn Sponsored Updates train and reported:
“LinkedIn Sponsored Updates has been one of the most successful lead generation campaigns for HubSpot, as the quality of leads is much higher than other paid media platforms.”
By making this step, LinkedIn will be using its multi-networking marketing to the maximum, enticing new users to join, and new companies to market with them.
Returning to the original question of “What will be different this year”, other sites, such as Facebook, will continue being leaders in social media and marketing, but 2014 will be different for them, because the internet will be used differently. For example: it’s not news that fewer teens are using Facebook these days, and that will not change. This means that the way Facebook appeals to its users will have to evolve, and therefore their marketing must do the same.
Here is where LinkedIn will find another advantage: The unique user database will not change because it’s a site of professionals for professionals. This knowledge will be comfortable to marketers therefore leading to growth in marketing for LinkedIn.
