Media buyers continue to monitor the Nielsen ratings to maximize their clients ad dollars. Sunday night held few surprises.

CBS continues to dominate the other networks on Sunday night.  With a lead-in from football  media buyer OH(the Denver Broncos was the highest rated NFL Divisional Playoff game over the weekend), their mainstay 60 Minutes scored a season high with Adults 18-49. The Good Wife also scored its highest rating this season.

Sunday night, CBS was had the most viewers with over 18 million viewers.

The 71st Golden Globes hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on NBC, showed a 2% increase in viewers over last year.

Two movies "12 Years a Slave" and "American Hustle" were the top winners.  While Cate Blanchett won the Globe for best actress in a movie drama for her performance in "Blue Jasmine."

A big surprise was the new show "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" that won for best TV series comedy or musical.                                                                          media buyer OH

The "Golden Globes Red Carpet Special" aired live from 7-8pm ET, showed a significant increase over its rating in the last five year. Always a favorite as everyone wants to see what dresses the stars arrive in.

ABC has pulled the plug on its new mini-series The Assets. Last Thursday, the second episode delivered a disappointing .6 rating for Adults 18-49.

Based on actual events about the cold war, it received little if any media attention. (I didn't even know it was on). If you were one of the few who actually watched, you may be left hanging. There is no word about the last six episodes as to if or when they may air.
